Brian Allenspach (far left), mechanical engineer from the Detroit area, and his Michigan U. senior student son, Eric (2nd from left), completed the Black Hills Course in late August, 1998.

Both attentive and thoughtful students, the Allenspach's took to fly fishing like trout do to water.  We count on them to return west for future fly fishing adventures.  Well done, gentlemen.

What students say about their courses

"When we boarded the plane from Rapid City we saw a boy carrying a Snoopy fishing rod.  My dad immediately asked him how well he did with the fish...he said he caught a bunch.  We congratulated him and told him we caught a bunch as well.  Some things you taught us stand out better than others!

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful vacation.  I hope to stay in touch, and I'm sure I'll throw a few questions your way every now and again.  I brought up my waders to school and my rod, so the technique shall be perfected by the next time we run into one another.

Please take care and drop a line when you get a chance.  Enjoy the day. Cheers."
