George & George Wiese.  Son, George, and his Father, "Mike", caught up with our course in the Black Hills in late August, 2001.  They were enroute on a cross-country trip from Washington to Massachusetts to enable George to enter his first year of college at Boston University.

After some football talk, lawyer jokes (Dad is a neuro surgeon) and some attentive study of fly fishing, we departed extraordinary pals.

Hope like heck to see them both again as soon as possible.

"As far as football goes, BC could definitely learn a thing or two about tackling from Nebraska.

How did we do on Rapid Creek after we left you?  Now that is a good question.  I would like to tell you that I caught a dozen fish and won the contest with my father, but that would be a lie.   He won the contest and I came up with nothing.  He caught one.

I lost my hopper in a tree and they never gave me even a strike on anything else, it was just as I came up to a big clear pool with huge trout all over the place.

I even thought of climbing up the tree to get my hopper back, but decided against that. Climbing in waders would be about the dumbest thing one could do.  Losing that fly though definitely taught me a lesson about how I should be casting in that environment. Maybe just dabbling and bow and arrowing would have worked better.

Oh, well, I still had a great time.  Thanks again for your own patience in dealing with me.  I truly enjoyed your course.  It has given me an even greater interest in developing myself as a fly fisherman. I will be in touch."
