Casting Casting |
So . . . NOW that you have reviewed the School's other courses and know all there is to know about fly fishing: knots, rods, reels, lines, leaders, equipment, etc., NOW what the heck do you do? Well, its time to apply this knowledge in the "real world" of actually fishing with a fly. In this course, we teach you how to flycast. We break down the individual components of casting and present a "how to" for each. With the use of simplified text, companion graphics and animations, we illustrate the fundamentals of a proper cast; the "do's & don'ts"; what makes up a cast and how to perform each step properly. We provide a step-by-step practice regimen that takes all the guess work out of how to go about learning how to flycast on your own. This course will shorten the learning curve significantly by understanding the dynamics of casting a nearly weightless object . . . the fly. There is no substitute for experience, especially when it comes to fly fishing. And there's no better way to gain on-the-ground casting experience than to actually fish for wild fish in their native habitats. That's what our Outdoor Courses provide, giving students a headstart on learning how to "hunt" fish.
