Ah!, the fly rod!

Fly fishermen and women the world over have an unusual attachment to their fly rods.  For just like a favorite family pet, they become an important and inseparable part of our daily lives.  (At least those days when we're fly fishing.)

The fly rod is another item of equipment that is unique to fly fishing.   Once they earn a respected position in our tackle arsenal, it is usually a lifelong relationship that grows and grows.

In this course, you will learn about fly rods,  their classifications, components, styles, definitions and purpose.  We will take the confusion out of selection of the appropriate fly rod(s) for your specific needs.  In the process, your new knowledge will save you the disappointment (and money) invested in the wrong rod(s).

In Outdoor Courses, students are able to "touch & feel" a variety of rods and gain first hand knowledge of their performance and purpose.  We focus on the fly rods particular to each individual student's needs as to the type of fly fishing they intend for their rod(s.)
