"The ties that bind", knots used in fly fishing are unique to the sport.  They are critical for strength, balance and fluidity, and smooth connections.  Though not particularly difficult to learn, they do require repetitive practice in order to perfect.  Once learned, they become "second nature."

In this section you will learn 13 knots that are essential in fly fishing and how to tie them; what knots to use under various conditions; and when to use each knot.  Presented with both text-based and graphic teaching aids, you will have fun learning in this course.

At our Outdoor Courses, instruction in knots is more tailored to the needs of the individual student, particularly as to the type of fly fishing they intend to focus on.
