"I
enjoyed the course from the minute I stepped into the classroom. I
learned more in two days than I could ever learn from a magazine, book
or tape. Cole was a fabulous instructor. Was it worth every penny? Would
I ever go again? Just show me where to sign up." |

The midwest may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking
of fly fishing. But that's not the region's fault . . . because Nebraska
(and other states in the midwest) offers some truly
fine quality opportunities for the fly fisher. For warmwater fishing, the
region is about as good as it gets.
Some of our country's largest Largemouth Bass frequent our ponds, lakes and reservoirs. Bluegill, Green Sunfish and Crappie are other warm-water species that are a great quarry for fly fishers. Several cold, clear streams of the north and west harbor localized, but excellent, trout fishing action in the traditional stream fishing sense. Not many people know of or have experienced their quality or quantity.
FlyFishing Courses for beginners to intermediates are presented at Mahoney State Park, mid-way between Omaha & Lincoln, Nebraska. Dana & Katie Cole also provide specialized one-on-one instruction in the Lincoln/Omaha area when time permits. The courses emphasize the variety of freshwater fly fishing opportunities available in Nebraska and the midwest. Many of the fish in this area are ideal species with which to get started on the lifetime journey of fly fishing.
Courses are designed for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of how to fly fish and more. Registration is limited to 8 students per session. The 2 day courses are held at Nebraska's picturesque Mahoney State Park near Ashland. The courses are taught by School of FlyFishing founder, Dana Cole and his daughter, Katie. Students may purchase a rod outfit suited to fly fishing the midwest and have it awaiting their arrival at the course, or use the school's equipment.
These courses are suited to male and female, young (at least 12) and old. Students will acquire knowledge in 2 days of comprehensive instruction that might take them 10 years to learn on their own. From knots to casting to technique, our personalized guidance will enable each student to gain the basic skills necessary to begin enjoying the unique rewards of fly fishing . . . whether that's in Nebraska or Alaska, or wherever.
