The School of FlyFishing offers a unique program to "Learn How To Fly Fish". In addition to our regularly-scheduled group courses in Nebraska, the Black Hills and Minnesota, we also provide one-on-one sessions designed to maximize learning specific to the needs of the individual student. The day-long sessions are arranged based upon mutually agreeable scheduling. They are conducted on an "as available" basis at any of the school's Outdoor Course locations. As time and space availability allow, they may also be arranged in other areas.
Gain Knowledge & Skills
These courses are suited to those with "some" to "a lot" of fly fishing experience. It is not intended as an introductory course, but can serve well for those just getting started. Most students will have had enough experience to perhaps have their own equipment (if not, we provide everything.) And, they usually have fairly specific questions or issues that they wish to have addressed. From fly selection to casting, presentation technique and beyond, our personalized guidance will enable each student to gain tremendous progress in their fly fishing knowledge and skills in a short period of time.
Course Format
The sessions consist of the following:
Courses will be one-on-one with Dana or Katie Cole as time is available during the season.
These are one day, one-on-one fly fishing sessions. Topics of instruction will cater to the individual needs of the student, based upon their experience, interests, etc. There is no structured "lesson plan".
Sessions are set up individually between the "student" and The School
Fishing will be on a variety of water, depending on suitability of location, fishing opportunity and desires of the student.
Primary species of focus in Nebraska are Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, some Crappie and Carp; in the Black Hills, Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout; Minnesota offers Large & Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Bluegill.
$300 per session; fishing license required. $150 deposit.
